At present, there are more than 40 enterprises with an annual output of more than 100 million yuan, more than 200 enterprises with an annual output of more than 30 million yuan, and nearly 50 "mold cities (parks)" with certain influence. The construction of these mold cluster production bases has played a positive role in promoting the development of China's mold industry.

3. Attach importance to brand patents and strengthen innovation and R & D

Many enterprises have begun to realize the importance of "brand" and "patent", and the capital investment and ability of independent innovation have been continuously improved. For a long time, the mold has been in the "rear" and "passive" position, so there are few "brands" and "patents". With the development of market economy, enterprises pay more and more attention to "brand" and "patent" in recent years. Some enterprises have realized the importance of innovative R & D, and their investment has increased rapidly. According to the information learned by China mould industry association, in recent years, the proportion of investment in innovation and R & D and sales revenue of many enterprises has reached about 5%, and some enterprises have even reached 8% to 10%.

4. High and new technology is popular, and there is a shortage of mold talents

With the continuous improvement of mold technology, there are more and more molds belonging to high-tech products. With the development of high-tech, more and more mold manufacturing enterprises are recognized as high-tech enterprises by relevant departments of governments at all levels. According to the preliminary statistics of China mould association, there are 7 high-tech enterprises in the mould industry and nearly 100 provincial and municipal high-tech enterprises.

The shortage of talents is becoming increasingly prominent. Although the workforce of China's mold industry has developed rapidly in recent years, it is estimated that it has reached nearly one million people, it still can not keep up with the development needs of the industry. First, the total amount is insufficient, and second, the quality is not enough to meet the needs of industry development. According to Luo Baihui's survey, there is a gap of about 300000 ~ 500000 employees in the national mold industry, of which engineering and technical personnel account for about 20%. Although China's mold industry has entered the fast lane of development, it can not meet the needs of China's manufacturing development because there is still a large gap compared with the international level and industrial advanced countries in terms of precision, service life, manufacturing cycle and capacity. Especially in precision, large, complex and long-life molds, the demand is still in short supply. Therefore, a large number of imports are still needed every year.

Dependence on foreign capital has increased year by year. Six years after China's accession to the WTO, foreign trade has developed rapidly, and China's economic dependence on foreign trade has increased from 30% to 70%. At the same time, in recent years, it is the period when a large number of foreign capital has entered China. With the continuous expansion and deepening of the opening-up policy, foreign capital has invested more and more in China's mold industry, resulting in an increasing dependence on foreign capital year by year. For example, Guangdong Province is the largest mold Province in China, and its production capacity accounts for about 40% of the country. In the mold production capacity of the province, foreign-funded enterprises account for about 60% and joint ventures account for about 10%. The province's mold export accounts for about 50% of the country, of which the export by foreign capital and joint ventures also accounts for the majority of its export volume.
